Two Dead in Road Accident Along Southern Bypass

Two people have lost their lives following a tragic road accident along the Southern Bypass in Lang'ata, Nairobi County. The incident involved a trailer truck and a lorry, both traveling in the same direction from Kikuyu.

Mugumuine area chief George Mukuria confirmed that the accident occurred due to reckless overtaking by the speeding vehicles, which collided on their sides.

Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene, with their bodies awaiting police processing before being taken to the morgue.

The area has long been a notorious black spot, responsible for numerous fatalities, as reported by authorities. Most of the victims are pedestrians, including residents of Kibra and Lang'ata, who attempt to cross the busy highway unaware of the risks.

The accident caused significant traffic congestion, disrupting the flow of operations along the key road link. Traffic police from Lang'ata have arrived to manage the situation.
