Police in Kisumu have arrested three suspects linked to the recent attack on Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi.

The suspects were identified by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) as Carlos Owiti alias Kalonje, 24, and Vincent Odhiambo alias Tinga, 27, both from Nyalenda, along with Eric Otieno alias Dude, 39, from Manyatta.

According to the DCI, the trio was apprehended through an intelligence-led operation aided by information from members of the public. Authorities commended residents for their cooperation, noting that investigations are ongoing to identify and arrest other individuals believed to have been involved in the incident.

The three suspects are currently in police custody and are expected to be arraigned in court as investigations continue.

Senator Osotsi was attacked on Wednesday at a restaurant in Kisumu. Reports indicate that a group of individuals confronted him before assaulting him, leaving him injured.

Following the incident, the senator was airlifted to Nairobi for specialized medical treatment.

Detectives have since intensified investigations, including reviewing CCTV footage from the scene, as they pursue more suspects linked to the attack.

Authorities have assured the public that all those responsible will be brought to justice.
